Did you know?
Did you know...... that on December 14 is Women Chieftan Day? In 1985, Wilma Mankiller formally took office as the principal chief of the Cherokee Nation, thus becoming the first woman to lead a major American Indian tribe. She works to improve the lives of Native Americans by helping them receive better education and health care and urges them to preserve and take pride in their traditions.
