... that on January 27 is the anniversary of the 15-Inch Snowflake? The largest snowflakes ever measured occurred in Fort Keogh, Montana, in 1887. Flakes as large as 15 inches wide were reported!
Internet has been a big big help especially to those who have relatives abroad. Now, getting in touch in our loved-ones from the other side of the world seemed to be just one click away. Now, we get to see and talk to them any day and anytime of the day--all we need is Internet. I read somewhere that there's one latest feature that we can make Conference calls too. Think of instant reunion over video calls. Wow! Can't wait to try it.
Is the circus in town yet? I remembered when I was a kid, my parents would take us to the circus and hand us ncstar binoculars so we can see the show from a far. Funny because the first time I used the binoculars, it was the other way around hahaha. It was a little bit hard at first but it's like watching the show on front row. I plan to see the circus and bring the little kiddo because I know she'll like it very much.
Congratulations to the kiddo... she won 2nd place at the Engligh Declamation Contest 2011 in school this morning. I was already proud of her because she was one of the finalist and winning a place was heaven for a mom like mom. Keep it up kid!
Just when I thought my Birthday was one of those days--think again! Yesterday my sister and BIL visited us here in the apartment. I was surprised and thought they were just passing by. But they had it planned already. Yes, my sister surprised me with iPod iTOUCH! Apparently, all my sisters already talked that they's bought me one for my birthday and with the flawless execution of sister Ardey, it was quite a surprise for me. THANK YOU DEAR ZITROS. LOVE LOVE LOVE..
One of my newest favorite desserts is the Banoffee cake! Nothing beats a slice at Banapple but this little banoffee pie from Starbucks is good too. It think I'd go with both of them, of course! Picture taken: {08.22.2010}
It's my birthday tomorrow and I'm not even excited. Honestly, I feel bad about it. I feel bad because I can't celebrate my day with my family and because I need to work. Is it the real reason why? or is it about my age. I'm officially out of the calendar tomorrow. And sometimes I feel I want to do something good for myself and for my family but due to unfortunate events, I just can't do it and that makes me even more frustrated. Signs of aging? I can't tell. I hope I can straighten things out soon. It sucks to feel this way.
It was the worst mid-20's ever when I had the most horrifying break-out man had ever seen. My face was so scary that I can't even look at the pictures way back. Just when you thought you know everything--made my face even worse. So I decided to undergo acne treatment that time and within 2 months, my acne was gone. DermClinic works! But you to have the budget to spend. Me, I was desperate back then, but all was worth it!
... that on January 26 is the birthday of the Electric Dental Drill? In 1875, George Green of Kalamazoo, Michigan, patented the electric dental drill. Um... I guess it's better than a hand drill.
I remembered kiddo's teacher told me that she's included to present a poem on English Declamation Contest this coming 24th. I never knew the kiddo could memorize a piece like that and not to mention present it also in front with many people watching. And as early as now, kiddo and I are checking on something to wear. And let me guess, she wants a nice long gown dress with a killer shoes.. and not those in pants and ties.
I know the best fat burning exercises and effective for me is jogging. It tones my body in every aspect and I feel great. But since we don't have house help, my jogging time was out. I've been struggling on house chores, attending to the kiddo, plus I need to sleep and go to work at night. I'm complaining but I wish I have more time to exercise and sleep but it's impossible. I thought, I can't go out I probably need something to make still trim my waistline so I bought a waist trimmer disc last weekend. I used it yesterday and I didn't feel any sign of muscle pain. Maybe I need to level up or something. I need a proper exercise routine to go with it. Anyway, I'm still determined to slim down and I will still look for ways to get it.
I've been battling with pimples and acne all through out my teenage years and I've been loosing that battle all my life until I got to my late 20's when suddenly acne gave up on me. But I believe a good practice on how to remove pimples is still the best way. I learned from experience is that a healthy lifestyle is the main key. Exercise regularly, eat healthy and sleep more. I know I'm not blessed with the perfect skin but these simple steps will get me closer to that glowing skin I wanted.
It's been awhile since we visited the mall. We went there last weekend to meet my parents and had dinner with them. Mom and dad went home after eating and we decided to stroll around to check some sneaker stores in the mall. I found a perfect running shoes but it's way out of the budget. Hubby wants to get the rubber sandals but unfortunately, there's no size available and sale was already over. I miss going to the mall during weekends. I hope I can come back again with my friends this time.
We received this big bag of Snyder of Hanover from the MIL last year. One bite and it became our all-time favorite snack ever! Crunchy and salty taste of pretzel is dipped into this sweet Hershey's chocolate! Wow! I'm drooling... Picture take: {04.11.2010}
Thanks to the pills I've been taking, I haven't had any large break outs ever since. But of course, I still want my face to be blemish free and clean. So I check on effective ways on how to get rid of blackheads on the Internet. A good scrub is really effective so last weekend I bought myself a tube of St. Ives facial scrub. Even though it's pricey, I've been loyal to this product ever since I was in high school. It's my second week with this product and I've been blemish-free already. Hopefully I'll get the perfectly clean complexion just in time for the hubby's cousin's wedding that we're going to attend. I'm excited.
... that on January 25 is the American Hand Transplant Day? In 1999, 51 surgeons, nurses, and researchers at Jewish Hospital worked 15 hours to transplant a donor's hand to Matthew Scott. Scott became the first American and only the third person in the world to receive a hand transplant.
I'm beginning to get desperate on losing weight. I feel I need all the weight loss supplements in the market and I want to try them all. I know it's not good for me but sometimes I feel I needed a break or sometimes I want to do something, like exercise or spend more time outside working out but I can't. I'm already on border line between staying sane or going crazy. Maybe I need to unwind or spend some time alone and give myself a break. I don't know but I definitely don't want to cross the border to going crazy. Goodluck to me.
I said the helper was on day-off this morning, but later this afternoon I received a text message that she's not coming back. Why do people do that? Just going away without a formal goodbye. To think she still owes some money tsk tsk tsk. In know in the States that we don't have helpers like we do here in the PI but life is hard here especially when both of us are working. We don't have those 'day-care center' here in the PI so we really don't have any choice. Anyway, I don't want to go back on that and moving forward--I'm on night shift starting on Monday so I can attend to the kiddo's needs (school and all). My problem is if I'm can have enough sleep to attend to the kiddo and do all the chores in the house. GOD HELP ME.
3 weeks of jogging in the morning and it really feels good. Then I twisted my ankle last Saturday but I continued to jog. My ankle does not hurt anymore.. well just a little. Hopefully I won't step into a rock or something and twist my ankle again.
I'm back at prime time shift next week and it'll last for 3 months. Just when I'm used to this schedule, here come's schedule shift. Anyway, I can still jog in the afternoon. Hopefully it won't rain. Me and hubby are decided to cut down the flab and stay healthy as long as we can.
I like to experiment when I comes to food. But this recipe is no experiment, it's just something new for us. It's omelet with tomatoes and cheese! Beside I was trying out the Teflon pan. Picture taken: {03.08.2010}.
I notice everybody seem to have smart phones and android cell phones nowadays. And seeing the cell phone that I have, I'm so way behind. I still have the primitive ones--basic features phone like text messaging, camera, video and that's it. I'm thinking hoping to get the smart phone, touch screen with wifi. But I still can't make up my mind which brand and model. And the price also prevents me on getting one hahaha. Maybe I'll stick with my primitive phone for now and maybe I'll get an iTouch instead so the kiddo can play with it.
... that on January 24 is the birthday of the Icecotheque? In 2002, a Quebec night club owner introduced the first discotheque made entirely of ice (50,000 pounds). It was a very cool place to be cool.
I did a little paper sorting the other day because the hubby was looking for something. He needs the papers for the car and I don't know why. He said, he's going to check something and finally he told he plans to put the car under my name because the motorcycle was already under his name. How sweet. All I need is to give a xerox copy of my IDs and that's it. Anyway, we still need to car insurance rates for the car.
We had a great time @ Lanna's school this morning. I'm glad we attended the Family day. It's such a nice time to be with the kiddo and her teachers and classmates. We joined the parlor games and ate a lot of snack! Too bad I twisted my ankle while in one of the games =( But I did not let that get in the way of us having fun. More pictures *here*
I think the scariest thing that could happen to us is ran out of food to cook. So I always store food for rainy days. The main problem that I have is the long term food storage. I don't have enough space here in the kitchen. Good thing I stored enough to last a month or so because we haven't bought groceries yet and budget has been pretty tight nowadays. I hate after-holiday-month.
I'm seeing a lot of new cars on the streets and some of them are fancy ones too. I guess the ondoy typhoon made everybody sell their cars and get a new ones. It's like a show room live in the streets especially during weekends. A lot of folks can afford to get a brand new car after all or maybe through financing? If I have the money, I might get an rv so me and my family can have a getaway anytime. Since RVs are expensive, maybe we'll get rv financing on this one. Well, it's okay to dream right?
This is my route when going to band's rehearsal in Cubao. I'm not afraid of heights but I always feel a little dizzy when I'm on top! Maybe because it's hard to climb with an extra weight (bass guitar) on my back, not to mention the weather (hot). Taken {11.18.2010}.
Thank God got social network sites because I can still get in touch with my x-officemates. We still share updates with our jobs and other possible tech jobs with high pay. I still feel sad on what happened with the account but life has to go on. I hope and pray that everybody will have a better opportunity after that incident. MRS' still the best for me.
We definitely love the place! Clean, light ambiance and no-smoking (imagine that). Food looks good and we'll definitely try the bento box next time. More pictures *here*
