Paltos

After two weeks of practically no band rehearsals, we finally met last Thursday and it really made my day. I got up super early to get the little kiddo ready. She's be going with her Tita to work and spend the rest of the day at the mall. I was already rehearsing by myself as early as 9 o' clock. The rest of the band arrived around 10 though. Everyone was happy because Randell was present and we got to review and finish another new song. Hooray!

Aimz and Joey went home around 4:30pm, while me and Randell went to Cubao for another band rehearsal. And this is for the battle of the bands I was talking about few weeks back. We were suppose to start at 6 o' clock but Paul was late. As always.

We tried the song half step down, but it's not the same as the original key so we went back to standard tuning. I know I'm an expert backup vox, but I really tried and it turned out okay. We rehearsed the song over and over and over until my finger felt swollen but I ignored. We finished around 8:30pm and I got home at 9:30pm.

In bed, I can still picture out my day - Full of friends and Music. I wished everyday was rehearsal day!

The next day, I tried to ignore shoulder and arm pains. But I was amazed when I saw my paltos. I used the laptop cam to capture this because I'm still camera-less. Aliw ako sa paltos ko.

~ Two band rehearsals in one day. ~

Due to unavoidable unfortunate events -- me and the super friends were not able to watch Angels and Demons this afternoon. I was totally heart broken about it. But I know the super friends understands why I was not able to join them. I'm praying our date will push through next week. I miss you guys!

So now, there's nothing else for me to do, but to check herbal colon cleanse and my other online assignments.

Angels and Demons

Angels & Demons is a 2009 American film adaptation of Dan Brown's novel of the same name. It is the sequel to The Da Vinci Code, another Brown film adaptation, even though the novel Angels & Demons was published first and takes place before the novel The Da Vinci Code. Filming took place in Rome and the Sony Pictures Studios in Los Angeles. Tom Hanks reprises the lead role of Robert Langdon, while director Ron Howard, producer Brian Grazer and screenwriter Akiva Goldsman also returned.

In Rome, the Vatican mourns the passing of the Pope. Until the Conclave selects a new Pope, Patrick Mackenna, the Camerlengo (Ewan McGregor) assumes day-to-day control of the Vatican. Reporters, nuns, priests and other faithful all crowd into St. Peter's Square, waiting for the white smoke from the Conclave. But the Illuminati, a 400-year old, underground secret society of scientists, kidnap the four most likely candidates (preferiti) after the Conclave goes into seclusion. The Illuminati threaten to brand and publicly execute them, choosing methods of murder linked to the four elements, earth, air, fire and water. They do this as vengeance for 'La Purga', when Illuminati members were cleansed of their sins and executed. The Illuminati also send a message to the Vatican demanding fifty million dollars. They then threaten to destroy the Vatican, using the highly explosive anti-matter.

The Vatican summons Dr. Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) and Vittoria Vetra from CERN to help them solve the Illuminati's threat, save the four preferiti, and find hidden bomb. Langdon listens to the Illuminati message and deduces that the four cardinals will die at the four altars of the Path of Illumination. However, no one knows where these altars are located, but they are all somewhere in Italy. Langdon demands access to the Vatican Archives (a request he has made ten times already, in order to perform research for his book, and which has been denied each time) to see the original copy of Galileo's banned book. After trying many times they finally let him in. Using the clue from this book, Langdon, Vetra, and Lieutenant Olivetti (Victor Alfieri) of the Vatican police start their quest across Rome. Me and the super friends will see this n Friday and I'm so so excited. It's our first movie gimick ever since the Hong Kong trip. Time to unwind!

3 Q's

1. Do you have any hobbies? If so, what are they? If not, what do you do with your down time?
:: It's obvious that I play music as one of my hobbies. It's my passion ever since. Since I'm going out lately with my friends, they've taught me how to play poker. Now the hype is on. I can't stop playing and I even browse Poker Forums just to get techniques.

2. What do you like to do for fun?
:: I usually go out with my friends, watch a movie, eat out and talk till the wee hours. But recently tried Online Casinos because they have No Deposit Casino which it's easy to play.

3. Do you go out much? Where do you like to go? What kinds of things do you like to do?
:: I love to go out especially out of town trips to the beach. I'd always make sure I'd conquer a place where I never been before. And this coming August, we'll be going to caramoan. I can't wait.

Good News!

I received a text message from my dad that our house help arrived this morning. Thank goodness! Now we can go back home. I could go back to my usual routine - derma sessions, treadmill, blogging, download movies and so on.

More good news.... MMA practice tomorrow! Can't wait! And Centido jam late in the afternoon on the same day. Whew! I wish I have my camera to document all this.

Drag Me To Hell

Drag Me to Hell is a 2009 American horror film written and directed by Sam Raimi, and co-written by Sam's brother Ivan Raimi. It stars Alison Lohman and Justin Long. The film is set to be released on May 29, 2009. It is Raimi's first directorial horror film in 9 years. It is rated PG-13 in the US and 15 in the UK.

Christine Brown (Alison Lohman) is a hard-working bank loan officer with a good job, a great boyfriend, and a promising future. With a promotion up in the air between her and another employee, her boss, Mr. Jacks (David Paymer), advises her that she needs to demonstrate she can make "the hard calls" and make tough decisions. When Mrs. Ganush (Lorna Raver), an elderly Slavic woman, asks for a third extension on her mortgage, Christine, against her better instincts, denies her in an attempt to prove herself. In desperation, Ganush prostrates herself before Christine, begging and kissing the hem of her skirt. As a crowd of customers and employees gathers, Christine panics and shoves the woman away, gravely insulting her. That night, Ganush, enraged and humiliated, exacts revenge by placing a curse upon Christine. Shaken by this confrontation, but sure that no further harm will come of it, Christine tries to forget what has happened and move on with her life- that is until she is haunted around the clock by a mysterious and terrifying entity that only she can see. She confides in her boyfriend, Clay Dalton (Justin Long), however, he is too skeptical to believe her stories about monstrous demons that are constantly terrorizing her. Meanwhile, Christine keeps having frightening encounters with a transformed Ganush who is making her life a living hell. As her relationship starts to fall apart and her job starts to crumble, Christine becomes increasingly scared. Mr. Jacks starts to think that she may be suffering from psychiatric troubles and starts to confront her himself. With nobody to believe her, Christine makes a last desperate attempt to prove her sanity by consulting a psychic, Rham Jas (Dileep Rao), who warns her that she has been cursed and that she is to be tortured for three days by a demon called the Lamia before being dragged into hell to burn for eternity. Horrified by this revelation, Christine begins a race against time to save her soul from damnation. SOURCE: WIKIPEDIA

three times - Q's

1. How are you doing today? Is it a Good Day, A Bad Day, or an Indifferent Day? Why?
:=: It's nice day today. Monday's not bad. It reminds me of my rest day.

2. What are you up to/what have you done so far today?
:=: I'm still finishing my online assignments and I plan to post schedule entries for the rest of week and for next week too.

3. What are your plans for the evening? Anything fun?
:=: I've been browsing for gift ideas online and I plan to do more researching later this evening. Family and friend's birthdays are coming up so I need to prepare. But I still have a couple of items in mind, and I hope to find them later.

Gift ideas

It's the middle of the year again, that means, friends and family will be having their birthdays soon. So as early as now, I'm checking online birthday ideas for them already. It's usually my aunt or my mom and dad are the hardiest to persons to get for a present. Good thing I found some birthday ideas online. Like this, monogrammed towel wraps and nap mats are perfect for my auntie and my mom. I could also get personalized plates and placemats for children for their presents. I'm excited.

New Moon posters

Again... I just can't get enough of the Edward-Bella craze. Well, it's better than the Katrina Halili scandal right?! LOL. Anyway, I've found a lot of fan made posters on the net and some of them look liked the official ones. Anyway, here's some of my favorites but of course, I can't wait for the official poster!

Camera-LESS

I felt so sad when I received text message from the service center the other day. Yes it's busted! Why? Okay here's the story. My youngest sister borrowed this when they went to Bora last month. I had doubts on her because she's known as the gadget buster. Don't get mad sister G, we all know it's true hehe. Being the not-selfish sister that I am (naks!), I let her use it. My digicam arrived in one piece and working at that time. And so I was thankful. My 5th sister borrowed it also for her Bora trip but 3 days after I received a call from her and informed me that the camera it's acting up weird. I knew then that it's busted.

I brought it to the service center near my work place and waited almost two weeks for the initial quotation. Mainboard is for replacement and that alone costs Php 7,114.xx plus the labor fee of Php 2,000, total of Php 9,114.xx! Not to mention the 1-2 months wait for the parts. I was speechless. I've been camera-less, ever since my sister's bora trip last month.

I've been good to this camera and it really served it's purpose. It always capture good and excellent underwater pictures and even videos too! Here's some of my memorable trips I had with this digicam.

Fill-Ins

1. How’s the climate where you live right now? Too cold? Too hot? What’s your preferred climate?
:: It's HOT because it's still summer. Too hot for me especially in the middle of the afternoon. My preferred climate would be in Hong Kong. I love love the climate there!

2. Is it ’spring’ where you live yet? If so, how can you tell? If not, when does spring usually occur?
:: Unfortunately, we only have two seasons here.

3. Depending on the season, what’s the preferred temperature in your house? What kind of things do you do (heat, a/c, fans, etc) to make your environment most comfortable for yourself?
:: We usually turn on the A/C at night and fans in the afternoons. Sometimes I feel the heat serves as a fatburner.

What else?

What do you want to do with a little extra cash?
:: I do make sure to save that little extra cash now that the little kiddo will be going to school this coming June.

What else do you want this week? Feel free to share it all.
:: Work is still on the top of my list. Playtime with the little kiddo tomorrow because it's my rest day. And look for the best diet pills in the market. Because there's an up coming outing this July and I can't wait.

new ride

My sister abroad mentioned that she bought a car so it's now easy for her to go to work everyday. Our youngest sister is currently with her and enjoying a month vacation. Looks like they know their directions already or maybe because they have Garmin GPS in the car? Maybe. But a GPS will be a great help especially if you're in a foreign land like them. Here, I prefer to commute but when I'm with my family, we usually bring a ride with us. Hubby is also proposing a get a new ride. Will see.

random Q's

1. How’s your mood today? :=: Feeling a little bit sleepy this morning because I finished two movies in the laptop and I plan to watch Nodame later today at night. I'm trying to finish the movies I have on the my hard drive. You would believe how many movies I have.

2. What’s one thing you do when you’re mad? :=: Something I shout and throw things. But I noticed now that when I'm mad, I usually keep quiet or try to do something else and try to forget what I'm mad about. I seldom feel angry because life's too short to get angry at someone.

3. Any lessons in life that you would like to share? :=: Enjoy! Enjoy as much as you can. Do whatever you think is right. Love more and make sure you tell them. Life's too short to dwell on negative things.

4. How do you feel about your hair right now? :=: I'm still not satisfied with my hair cut. I still plan to visit the salon but I can't decide where. I'm a little scared that the next stylist will make a hell out of my hair again. It's still manageable but not the style I want. We'll be going to the mall later today so I might drop by at the salon. I hope.

5. What’s something you really want right now, be honest? :=: I have three online sites but I still keep a offline diary in the office. There's this one thing I want to do these past couple of weeks and I still keep it as a secret. Sorry!

6. If someone were to spell your name wrong, how would they spell it? :=: Most people I know always spell my name wrong. Double S and sometimes single T. It's a little confusing so I prefer to use Liz. Simple three letter word name.

7. If you were given $100, would you spend it, or save it? :=: I really need to save some money because the little kid will be going to school this June. But on this case, I might spend it. Like try a new sport. I'm not a the sporty type so this could be a good start for me. Try Golf or Golfreisen and buy my gear in Platzreife.

8. Do you crack your knuckles? :=: Yes, sometimes. Especially when I'm tired.

9. Do you ever write notes on your hand? :=: LOL! Yesh! I'm soo forgetful so I always write notes on my hand especially when I was still studying.

10. Have you ever fallen backwards on a chair? :: Yeah, a couple of times. Good thing, it always turn out to be funny so I just laugh it out.

Music is the cure

+ 12:30AM +

Updating this from a notepad because there's no Internet access here at night. House help left for a two-week vacation in the province, so we moved here at my SIL's house. We'll be staying here for a while until the nanny comes back. It was a busy weekend for me -- moved and work. We also had our band rehearsals early yesterday morning in Cubao, because we'll be joining the up coming battle this month. Ex-office mates and close friends invited me to play with them in the event. I was glad I accepted the offer. Personal life, family, work, stress, is already high nowadays and the band rehearsal really took all the negative feelings away. Playing music is the cure for me. I'm glad I embraced my passion again.

Portable drive

Life became more easier for me when portable drives, like flash drive were available in the market. I could easily drag and drop files I want to transport without the hassle of buying a blank CD then threw it away once I'm done with it. It saves more time and money for me. I remembered I need to save a big picture file on the flash drive and bring it to the local mall so I can have it printed. I'm excited to see the actual print out because it's our family portrait.

One can always find a best buy at www.buy.com. I know because it's been my shop stop ever since it was introduced to me by a friend from the States. I usually ask her to buy an item for me and have it over here. She also tells me that she was able to grab great deals from special discounts, rebated and coupon they have. I wish I could go there and shop gadgets I always wanted.

At work on Mother's day

It was mother's day yesterday. We went to church in the morning to say our Thank You's then my parents fetched me and the little angel because they would go swimming in Cavite. Unfortunately for me, they dropped me off somewhere near the office because I had to work. When I was walking towards the next train station, I noticed new establishments in the area, including schools, training centers, medical assistant training school, malls and many more. I haven't gone there for years already so I was surprised how the area had developed all these years. I even bought 4 skirts from the nearby mall. Panic buying? Sort of. Oh well, I was stuck at work the whole day so me and my officemates just ordered McDonalds for dinner. I'm still happy my mom told me the little angel really enjoyed the time with her cousin at the resort. All is well.

Last week's recap

Here's the last week's recap (If my memory serves me right):

Monday :: First day of the month's new shift schedule. Please don't ask more.
Tuesday :: My sister's flight to Dubai, where she re-unites with the my two other sisters there.
Wednesday :: Got a text message from a friend, inviting me to join them in the up coming Battle of the bands - sponsored by JB Music.
Thursday :: Whole day MMA band rehearsal. Yes, the rain did not stop us from making music and had small drinking session right after. Then received another text message that a friend drummer had joined. And so the band unites again.
Friday :: Spend the whole day with the little kiddo at SM. I let her play with kids there, ate spag at Jollibee and purchase the ride-all-you-can at storyland. I was a tiring day but the little angel surely enjoyed her day with me.
Saturday :: Listening to the original song that we're going to play. I'm trying to absorb every note and melody of the song. I wish I have my bass guitar here with me.
Sunday :: Planning to go to church later and lunch out with the little angel and the FIL.

Happy Mother's day!

Twilight - Director's Notebook

I was planning to pre-order this book before it was released two months ago. I had a hard time deciding at the time because of the shipping. Ruth's page is very up to date when it comes to the Twilight Sequel. She even bought a DVD and a complete set of the books - I soo envy her LOL!

But there's a fan site that you can actually see the book - online. I've been browsing the site and enjoying the stories behind the movie. See it for yourself HERE. Kudos to the site's webmaster. But I still want the book though.

Meet the Wolf Pack

It took a couple of months and thousands of hopefuls to find a quartet that fits the requirements for New Moon's wolf pack.

No. 1 on the list: Native American or First Nation ancestry, because their characters belong to the Quileute tribe, based in La Push, Wash., both in the book and in real life.

"They had to have papers that proved their heritage," says director Chris Weitz, who was the one who insisted on hiring within the community. "And they had to be in good physical shape."

The Twilight sequel is filming now, and between takes, the actors usually are working out with barbells, doing push-ups or chowing down on steak, Weitz says. "They went through wolf camp together, and they are in constant training. It paid off as a bonding thing for them and helped them to get to know one another. They drove each other to get more buff."

No amount of weightlifting, however, would allow them to act out the wolf portion of their performances; the beasts are about the size of horses and race around on all fours.

Justify FullInstead, the transformations are computer-generated, although one part of each wolf might seem familiar.

"They all have the actor's eyes," Weitz says. SOURCE

First look at the Wolves

I got this news from Ruth and I got really excited. Finally, faces behind the book's characters. I think I starting to like Jared already haha.

~ Animal instincts: Paul (Alex Meraz), Sam (Chaske Spencer), Jared (Bronson Pelletier) and Embry (Kiowa Gordon), a gang of werewolves in New Moon, due Nov. 20. ~

Step aside, aloof vampires with all your undead issues. The wolf pack is ready to howl.

Unlike cold-blooded neck biters, these poster guys for animal magnetism are hot. So hot that their temperature runs a steady 108 degrees, as anyone who has read Stephenie Meyer's series of gothic romances knows.

That gives them a great excuse to doff their shirts on-screen and expose the physiques they've been pumping up for playing werewolves in The Twilight Saga:New Moon, the sequel to last year's supernatural sensation, due Nov. 20.

Four actors — Chaske Spencer, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Bronson Pelletier, all with Native American heritage — join Taylor Lautner, 17, who returns as a hairier, scarier Jacob Black. The plotline finds Jacob growing closer to a distraught Bella (Kristen Stewart) after her vampire beau, Edward, runs off.

Among wolf pack job requirements: the ability to work half-naked no matter what the weather in the Vancouver, B.C., area, where the film has been shooting for several weeks.

"It's not pleasant for the actors," says director Chris Weitz. "But they have all been good-natured. They show up on location in drenching, cold rain, and I say, 'OK, off with the robes.' " SOURCE
